Who can be a guarantor
for a loan?

A guarantor for a Buddy Loan can be a family member, good friend, or someone you know at work.

They do not need to be a homeowner, but being a homeowner can help. They do need to have good credit, and not be financially linked to you. This means they cannot be a guarantor for you on other loans, or have co-signed for you for other loans.

Your guarantor can be your partner or spouse, again as long as you do not have other financial ties together.

A guarantor can be your parents, Aunt, Uncle, brother or sister, any family member who knows you and feels you will repay the loan.

Any of your good friends can be a guarantor as well, including a work colleague, again as long as they have good credit, and feel you can repay the loan.

Your guarantor cannot be someone you have met at the pub, or someone you recently have become acquainted with.

As long as you can afford the repayments, and your guarantor feels you will repay the loan, you can get a Buddy Loan.

And having a guarantor means there is less risk involved in the loan, so you can get a better and lower interest rate than many other bad credit loans.
